Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using HomeBite, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our service.

Description of Service

HomeBite is a platform that connects home cooks with local buyers. Cooks can list homemade meals, and buyers can browse, order, and pick up meals from nearby cooks.

User Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use HomeBite
  • You are responsible for maintaining account security
  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • One person or entity may not maintain multiple accounts
  • You are responsible for all activities under your account

For Cooks

Food Safety: You are responsible for ensuring all food is prepared safely and complies with local health regulations.

Accurate Listings: Meal descriptions, ingredients, and allergen information must be accurate and complete.

Fulfillment: You must fulfill orders as described and within the specified pickup window.

Payments: You will receive payments minus platform fees. Stripe Connect handles all payment processing.

For Buyers

  • Orders are binding once confirmed and payment is processed
  • You must pick up orders during the specified time window
  • All sales are final - orders cannot be cancelled once payment is confirmed
  • You are responsible for checking allergen and ingredient information

Payments and Fees

  • All payments are processed securely through Stripe
  • HomeBite charges a 5% service fee to buyers and a 5% platform fee to sellers on each successful order
  • This fee covers platform maintenance, secure payments, customer support, and app development
  • Sellers receive 95% of the meal price
  • Contact support@homebite.app for any order issues
  • You are responsible for any applicable taxes

Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Transmit harmful code or malware
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Manipulate ratings or reviews
  • Use the platform for commercial purposes outside of selling meals
  • Scrape or collect data from the platform

Liability and Disclaimers

HomeBite is a platform connecting cooks and buyers. We do not:

  • Prepare, inspect, or guarantee the quality of meals
  • Verify food safety or health compliance
  • Guarantee the accuracy of listings
  • Assume liability for foodborne illness or allergic reactions

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold HomeBite harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes will be resolved in Norwegian courts.
